“They are the sweetest!!” I raved to my husband as we talked on the phone after my initial meeting with David and Petra. We had just had a wonderful conversation over coffee; they detailed their wedding day and emphasized the importance of their guest experience – it was evident that these two cared deeply for their friends and family.
David explained his passion for the architecture, in both the church they chose to exchange vows and the reception building at the Skirball Cultural Center. They both also shared an appreciation for the picturesque gardens! I imagined their day to be a boundless portrayal of their love in glorious settings – it was that and more…
We started their day at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel. Petra handed off her details to us and we couldn’t help but swoon over her lace Ines Di Santo gown from Lovella Bridal, her bouquet by Ixora Florist which carried an abundance of soft florals in dusty rose, white, cream and burgundy hues and all the other classic touches! A theme, planned and executed by Stacy Porras, which continued with the various details that made their day romantic, dreamy and timeless.

We couldn’t help but smile as they exchanged gentle giggles and warm embraces after their first look at the Luxe hotel. We traveled to Skirball’s beautiful grounds for portraits before heading to the First Christian Church of North Hollywood for their ceremony.
“I am yours. I am yours as the stars belong to the sky and I am yours as the rivers belong to the sea. I am yours as your tears belong to your eyes and I am yours as your lungs belong to the pattern in which you breathe.” — Christopher Poindexter
Walking into the Ahmanson Ballroom at the Skirball Cultural Center was an amazing experience! The modern building was filled with romantic details; from the whimsical spotted dance floor, candle-lit and tree inspired table décor, to the leaf motif on the ceiling… this space felt like a dreamy indoor garden!!
The Lucky Devils band kept the reception lively all night, and in lieu of a cake – these two chose to end their sweet night with donuts from The Fry Girl and Carmela Ice Cream.
Congrats David and Petra, your day was full of joy, gentleness and love… everything we love about a wedding day – thank you so much for having us!
