One of my all time favorite places is Malibu. Maybe it’s because of the salty sweetness in the air, or the glistening sunsets…or maybe, it’s because it’s the only enjoyable drive in L.A. Sure it is busy; but it is also “windows down, wind in my hair, music blasting” kind of busy – and that is a-ok!
This last trip was extra special as I was heading over to Point Dume to meet Lindsey and Brad. I always look forward to meeting couples; it’s wonderful to meet new people in general, but when you are meeting because they are in love and you get to photograph their journey… well, that my friends – is blissful. <3
Ok, so lately, I’ve really been into florals and making bouquets and I wanted to surprise Lindsey with something pretty. I put together this bouquet, and besides including florals from Whole Foods, I also included a few from my very own garden! I grow jasmine and roses, and luckily – a few were in bloom!!
Love is like a beautiful flower which I may not touch, but whose fragrance makes the garden a place of delight just the same.

Lindsey and Brad arrived looking like movie stars, they are quite amazing people – both a pleasure to get to know and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day!!
Scroll on for their session at Point Dume in Malibu and for a few words from Lindsey!
What is your favorite thing about being engaged?
The constant excitement and anticipation of becoming a wife.
What is your proposal story?
It was Saturday, October 27th. At first it started off as any ordinary day. We decided to go to our favorite hiking spot, Point Dume. The weather was sunny and perfect. While we were hiking I spotted hummingbirds and dolphins. I thought to myself, this day couldn’t get any better. We stopped at a viewpoint along a cliff. While we were looking at seals play down below Brad unexpectedly got on one knee! To say I was surprised is an understatement.
Why did you choose your engagement location and what do you love about it?
My fiancé proposed at Point Dume. This is our favorite hiking location, mostly for the gorgeous views.
What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their engagement session?
I would say find a location you love! And during your session try to be in the moment!
What are you looking forward to the most during this time/at your wedding?
Being able to share this special moment with my family and close friends.
Thanks again Lindsey and Brad, I had the very best time photographing your engagement session!!
xo,
V
