San Francisco is a city full of charm, blending historic architecture, iconic landmarks, and stunning coastal views. For Kim & Lawrence, this vibrant city was the perfect backdrop for their San Francisco engagement session—it’s where their love story began. With a mix of urban and waterfront scenery, we explored some of the most picturesque locations in San Francisco: The Embarcadero, North Beach, and Crissy Field.
Kim & Lawrence were introduced to me by our friends at Milk Events, and from our first conversation, I could tell how deeply they cared—not just for each other, but for everyone in their lives. They envisioned their wedding day as a celebration centered around their loved ones, and that sentiment resonated deeply with me. As a San Francisco engagement photographer, I thrive on capturing authentic moments, and when a couple prioritizes genuine connections over posed perfection, it makes the experience even more meaningful.
This Bay Area engagement session was truly special. As we explored the city together, I learned that the Ferry Buildingwas one of their favorite spots, a place they often visited on dates. I also discovered that this session was more than just a milestone—it was a way to preserve their memories of San Francisco before moving to Pasadena right before the wedding. Capturing their favorite locations in this iconic city was a privilege, and I’m so excited to share some of my favorite moments below!
Our first stop was the Embarcadero and Ferry Building, a must-have location for Kim & Lawrence. We captured their love inside the historic marketplace, where soft natural light and elegant architecture provided a romantic setting. Outside, we took stunning portraits with the City Skyline as a breathtaking backdrop, adding a perfect mix of city and waterfront charm. One of my favorite shots from this part of the session was with the vintage F Line cable car, a nod to San Francisco’s nostalgic charm.

Next, we wandered through North Beach, one of San Francisco’s best engagement photo locations. Known for its Victorian architecture, steep hills, and cozy cafés, this area perfectly encapsulates the city’s character. Kim & Lawrence embraced the lively yet intimate atmosphere as I captured them walking hand-in-hand past colorful facades and historic landmarks.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to Crissy Field, where the Golden Gate Bridge provided a stunning, golden-hour backdrop. The coastal breeze, warm sunset tones, and open landscapes created a dreamy setting. Kim looked effortlessly elegant in a powder blue tulle skirt and matching cozy sweater, while Lawrence’s classic blue suit gave a timeless and refined feel. These final moments of the session were intimate, romantic, and filled with the kind of magic that only a Golden Gate Bridge engagement session can offer.
